World Matchplay First Round Roundup

Round one of the Betvictor World Matchplay, is now over, and we only have one left standing. After four very tough games, it’s only Mensur that has made it into the last 16. The world number 7 produced a dominant display, by beating John Henderson by ten legs to four. Mensur will now play Justin Pipe in the second round, as he looks to book a place in the last of the second biggest PDC tournament. After Mensur spoke briefly to use “I’m very happy, I started very well, and I was very solid.
“I had some problems with checkouts in the middle of the match, but I am happy to have got the win.”

Jelle lost out to Justin Pipe by ten legs to five in the Sunday afternoon session. Kim was beaten by Alan Norris by ten legs to six in the evening session. Kyle didn’t play until last night, when he would play fellow countryman Simon Whitlock. Whitlock would win by ten legs to five.
